Abstract
The quasi one-dimensional conductors K0.3MoO3 and RbO.3MoO3 exhibit a CDW driven Peierls transition at Tc = 180 K. We report on recent inelastic and elastic neutron scattering measurements on these compounds. Some low lying phonon dispersion branches have been measured in the metallic phase. The behaviour of the Kohn anomaly has been studied between room temperature and Tc. Below Tc the value of the CDW wavevector has been determined as a function of temperature.
