σz — Dependent Jastrow theory of liquid 3He

Abstract

Including a dependence on the z-component of the nuclear spin in the Jastrow wave function gives a substantial contribution to the ground state energy of liquid 3He, which tends to stabilize unpolarized liquid 3He relative to completely polarized 3He.
