Abstract

The integration of efficient graphical processors into the standard VSAPL system results in APL-Graphics as a powerful tool in the management decision-making process. The system provides a high degree of flexibility in the interactive analysis of large data bases. Fast cartographical summaries allow the decision-maker to incorporate his intuition into the iterative process of problem-solving. The present report addresses the flexibility and improvisation power provided by APL-Graphics in a dynamic problem-solving environment where problem definition evolves together with the solution but under firmly imposed deadlines. Illustrations of "instant-coding" will be given for situations requiring instant but one-shot solutions.
