Abstract

The phenomenological foundations of the jet and cluster approaches to e+e annihilation are investigated, and the critical implications of these pictures are presented both asymptotically and at finite energies, where they are compared with recent data. Corresponding predictions of other approaches (hydrodynamical model, dual models) are considered, and the interrelation between characteristic multihadron features (Feynman scaling, ultimate temperature) and other dynamical concepts (Bjorken scaling, constituent nature of hadrons) is discussed.
