Abstract
Previous research suggests that the uptake of online ICT among Australian’ small-to-Medium Tourism Enterprises’ (SMTEs) has not been all that good. However, much of the research in this area is now somewhat dated. Here, we report on a recent study aimed at gaining a more contemporary picture of online technology diffusion, adoption and use among Australian accommodation establishments in general, and attitudes towards the use of advanced, new, online technologies in general. At this stage, our results are preliminary only but they do seem to indicate that the general situation may have improved substantially over the past five years or so and a surprisingly high level of interest in recently-developed technologies exists.
