Angiogenesis-A Biochemical/Mathematical Perspective

Part of the Lecture Notes in Mathematics book series (LNMBIOS,volume 1872)

Abstract

Angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels from an existing vasculature, is a complex biochemical process involving many different biomolecular and cellular players. We propose a new model for this process based upon bio-molecular considerations and the cell cycle.
