Positive Real Control
The notion of positive realness has played an important role in control and system theory [5, 70, 167]. A well-known fact in robust and nonlinear control is that the positive realness of a certain loop transfer function will guarantee the overall stability of a feedback system if uncertainty or nonlinearity can be characterized by a positive real system . This has motivated the study of the positive real control problem. In the context of state-space systems, results on positive real control can be found in [153, 175], and the references therein.
