Abstract.
We present here early results from the Faint InfraRed Extra-galactic Survey (FIRES) of the Hubble Deep Field South. The purpose of this survey is to study galaxy evolution in a deep, K-band selected sample. We demonstrate our technique for measuring photometric redshifts and estimating the rest-frame V-band luminosity of the galaxies in our sample. We find a population of intrinsically luminous galaxies at \(z \ge 2.0\), and find a set of luminous galaxies with spectral energy distributions indicative of evolved populations.
