Abstract.
The main X-ray and optical properties of a very luminous X-ray outburst source are summarized. The results are: large variability in X-ray emission (count rate rise of a factor of 10 within 7 days), soft X-ray spectrum (photon index = -3.8), giant peak X-ray luminosity (1044 erg/s), previously unknown non-active optical counterpart (redshift = 0.05).
