Samenvatting
Acute nierinsufficiëntie is een klinisch syndroom geassocieerd met een plotselinge (uren tot dagen) afname van de nierfunctie, gekenmerkt door stapeling van metabole afvalstoffen en verstoring van het interne milieu. Voor diagnostiek en behandeling dient men eerst onderscheid te maken tussen prerenale (verminderde nierperfusie), intrarenale (ziekte of beschadiging van het nierparenchym) en postrenale (obstructie van urineflow) acute nierinsufficiëntie.
