Abstract
Results of recent studies of structure and properties of nanocrystalline metals and alloys produced by severe plastic deformation and by nanocrystallization of amorphous alloys are considered. High resolution transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and in situ deformation in the column of an electron microscope were used to analyze the structures and the mechanisms of plastic deformation of nanocrystalline materials.
