Abstract
Magnetic tweezer microrheometry combined with shear field mapping allows local measurements of mechanical properties of cell envelopes and cytoplasms. The viscoelastic impedance of cell envelopes reflects the rheological signature of the actin networks enabling real time studies of structural reorganization of actin corteces by cell stimulating agents. The cytoplasm behaves as viscoplastic bodies. Velocity distributions of endosomes/magnetosomes exhibit log-normal distributions driven by intracellular transport forces of 5 to 30 pN.
