Do Slow and Small Oxygen Changes Affect the Cerebral Cytochrome Oxidase Redox State Measured by Near-Infrared Spectroscopy?

Conclusion

Changes in concentrations of O2Hb, HHb and tHb, induced by small and slow O2 changes, measured by NIRS over the neonatal brain, are inversely correlated to the measured changes in the oxidation state of CytO2. For small O2 changes the methodology CytO2 measurement needs to be improved.
