Abstract
Definition 4.1.1.A functionXthat assigns a vector (X1 (s), ..., Xn(s)) of real numbers to each outcome s in a sample space S associated with a random experiment E is called arandom vectorof dimension n. Each component of the random vector is a random variable. The set of all possible values ofX, denoted by SX, is a subset of ℝn(see Fig. 4.1).
