Abstract
Electron scattering is a mature area of scientific research and one that plays a key role in many disparate areas of science and technology. Recent advances in both experimental techniques and computational methodology have led to a renaissance in the study of electron interactions with atomic and molecular targets in both gaseous and condensed phases if matter. Many of these new studies are at the forefront of modern interdisciplinary research. In this article a brief review of the current state of knowledge in electron scattering will be discussed and a few examples of the new and exciting areas of electron research presented.
