Conclusion
In sum, the cognitive formulation of health anxiety appears to account sufficiently for the experiences of health anxiety patients, and the efficacy of CBT for health anxiety is gradually gaining empirical support. Should more support follow, the continued implementation of this intervention will be warranted and should reduce the incidence of the distressing and ironic phenomenon known as health anxiety.
