Long-Term Calculation of Hg Pollution over South-East Europe

  • Chapter

Conclusions

The mercury version of the dispersion model EMAP, in spite of the simple parameterization of mercury specific processes in air, soils and seas, as well as the first glance setting of the ruling parameters, and rough initialization of the re-emission mass, shows quite good results when applied to real data. Much work has to be done further for adjusting the model to the measurement data, both in making parameters more precise and improving and complicating the parameterization by including additional processes and variables.
