Quantifying the Export of Pollutants fron the Boundary Layer

  • Chapter
Air Pollution Modeling and Its Application XIV

Conclusions

In this idealised study of trancer transport is was seen that more of the tracer was transported to the free troposphere in the frontal cases compared with the high pressure case. More than 50% of the tracer was in the free troposphere at the end of the simulation for the frontal cases. The tracer was transported to heights greater than 8 km by the front and more than 5 kilometers due to convection behind the front. It was also seen that the tracer was mostly transported over the sea in the frontal cases and mostly over the land in the high pressure case.

Future work will include the addition of a photochemistry and depositions schemes.
