Output and Delay Process Analysis of Slotted Aloha Multichannel Networks



In this chapter, we exactly derived the moment generating functions of the packet interdeparture time, packet delay and number of packets successfully transmitted with the slotted ALOHA protocol for multichannel system. The performance measures have been calculated under both IFT and DFT protocols. Numerical results show that channel utilization, packet delay and other important performance measures can be improved by employing multichannel in slotted ALOHA. Interesting performance characteristics have been observed through numerical results. These results are useful for analyzing multi-hop multichannel networks and reservation channels employing these multiple random access protocols.
