Phonon coherent states and response functions of harmonic polarizable crystals

Abstract

Generation and detection of coherent states of phonons in harmonic polarizable crystals are considered. Infrared absorption of coherent light and radiative recombination of trapped excitons are in particular discussed as candidate processes.
