Abstract

Main problem to be addressed in this paper is whether mandatory disclosure is necessary, or not. The mandatory disclosure may be in vain, or, even harmful in a sense that some resources are devoted to the regulatory procedure for mandatory disclosure. We investigate the working of the enforcement mechanism of mandatory disclosure and examine the influence of bounded rationality of consumer on disclosure policy.
