Abstract

A multiband dual-polarized configuration using stub loaded semi-annular ring-shaped microstrip antenna is proposed. The connected stub tunes the frequencies of higher-order mode TM20 and TM40 relating to fundamental mode TM10 and third mode TM30 that yields multiband response. Total four bands are observed, respectively, at TM10, TM20, TM30 and TM40 modes with percentage bandwidth of 1.2–1.7%. Dual-polarized response is observed because of orthogonal current distribution at TM10 and TM20 mode. Broadside radiation pattern is observed for all four bands of proposed structure.
