An Overview of Application Scenarios of Voice over Wireless Sensor Networks

The unification of wireless communication technology and sensor fabrication techniques has resulted in the advent of wireless sensor networks. Since its origin, these networked sensors have been reported to be utilized in the fields of agriculture, disaster management, defense, environment monitoring, and numerous other applications. Recently, the use of wireless sensor networks for voice communication application has caught the eyes of researchers. In this article, an attempt has been made to present a broad overview of voice communication application scenarios utilizing wireless sensor networks.
