From Criminals to Spirits: Class A War Criminals
This chapter analyzes the rigid US policy towards the release of Japanese war criminals and the reasons for it. Babovic argues that other conservative Allies are more pragmatic when it comes to the war criminals issue than the US. The chapter shows what accelerated the release of Class A war criminals apart from the Cabinet changes in Japan. Finally, Babovic argues that the release process of Class A war criminals is transformative when it comes to Class A war criminals’ responsibility.
