Dolphin Swarm Algorithm for Cryptanalysis

This work focuses on the application of Dolphin Swarm Algorithm (DSA) to cryptanalysis. It is a relatively new optimization algorithm that is based on the collective behavior of dolphins to hunt for food in their natural habitat. Experimental results show that DSA is more efficient than well-known algorithms like genetic algorithm and ant colony optimization when utilized for the cryptanalysis of the Data Encryption Standard. It also produces solutions with higher fitness in a shorter period of time and with fewer individuals. The DSA can also be used to attack other block ciphers like Advanced Encryption Standard or Elliptic Curve Cryptography due to the independence of the fitness function with respect to the cipher.
