A Low-Cost Air Pollution Monitoring System Using ZigBee-Based Wireless Sensor Networks

In modern scenario Wireless Sensor networks are one of the most thrust areas in the modern research scenario. Air pollution is one of the major concerns which needs to be tackled in an appropriate way; otherwise in future, all living organisms will be dilapidated by its menacing effects. The present work focuses on the use of ZigBee module to measure the toxic gases in the atmosphere using sensors, and the communication protocol is based on wireless sensor network. The data are stored in a platform and compared with the threshold levels of the toxic elements. Whenever it crosses an alarm is raised so that necessary actions can be incorporated. With the help of these data, it has been found that the presence of toxic gases in the nature is successfully detected, and the method can be employed in all cities for its proper applications.
