The hybridization treatment of Stage I Norwood surgery simplifies surgical procedures, but succeeding work needs to be continually performed; for example, removal of the intravascular stent implanted in the ductus arteriosus, excision of ductus tissue and scar tissue resulting from stent implantation, handling possible stenosis of the pulmonary artery, and angioplasty and switch operations for the ascending aorta.
