Abstract

Every posterior C1–C2 fixation system has advantages and disadvantages. This chapter describes the drawbacks of the combination of a C1 hook and C1–C2 transarticular screws or C2 pedicle screws, and modification of the posterior integrated C1 laminar hooks applied in atlantoaxial fusion.
