Abstract

Trauma management in the modern era is based upon the trials and errors of the past. Much technological advancement and a better understanding of the science of trauma have shaped the way trauma is dealt with nowadays. Important aspects such as social, legal, and political dictate how trauma is managed in different parts of the world. This chapter traces the history of trauma from the earliest documented records to the present-day tangles.
