Abstract

At the outset of nation building after India’s independence in 1947, an attempt was made by the first Prime Minister to move India with socio-economic structural dualism inherited from the colonial administration towards a ‘socialistic pattern of society’ without accepting either of the two major ideologies of capitalism and socialism in their strict sense.
