Abstract

In 1999, Timor-Leste voted for its independence from Indonesia. Following that, a great exodus of East Timorese took place as many entered the neighboring East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, Indonesia. Fifteen years later, despite the numerous aid programs directed at the housing of former East Timorese refugees, many are still living in refugee camps, mostly in Kupang and Belu regencies of NTT. A question then arises: How have the resettlements of former East Timorese refugees been conducted in Kupang and Belu, NTT?
