Abstract

This chapter introduces Sister Katherine Lui’s leadership of the Precious Blood Congregation. It emphasizes the Roman Catholic Church’s significant and remarkable revelation of its global role in the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II) from 1962 to 1965 and discusses the response of the Precious Blood Sisters to the changes of the time in the Tenth and Eleventh General Chapters of 1957 and 1964 respectively. It devotes a large section to the 1964 Constitutions of the Precious Blood Sisters concerning the purposes of the congregation, the various stages of training and formation, the sisters’ professions, the leadership ranks, the office of the superior general, the holding of the general chapter, and the religious habit. Moreover, it mentions the Special Chapter of the Precious Blood Sisters in August 1969, and the sisters’ pursuits in education, with reference to Tack Ching Girls’ Middle School and Precious Blood Girls’ Middle School.
