Need of ICT for Sustainable Development in Petroleum Industry

Abstract

With increasing number of consumers, the issue of maintaining an ecological balance between consumers and resources has taken hours of discussions. A number of solutions for each sector have been proposed now and then. But, keeping a large number of factors in mind makes it a laborious task to accomplish. Thus, when we talk about sustainable development, the role of ICT becomes important. In one respect it supports innovation and efficiency of strategies and layouts; it does a remarkable work on grounds of economic growth and increased productivity. ICT tools do icing on cake with their powerful aim to support sustainable development with simplification, standardisation and giving a wonderful walkthrough of the whole life cycle of development of a product in an impressive computerised manner; wherein, ICT proves to be positively changing the meaning of provided services and the way they are produced and consumed.
