Remembering and Forgetting

Abstract

Late one morning during the first week of June 2008, I happened to make a brief visit to the offices of Deakin University’s Faculty of Education at Waurn Ponds (where I had worked for more than twenty years before retiring in January 2002). Walking through the reception area and down the corridors it seemed instantly apparent that what had been a vibrant and busy workplace was now empty, even deserted.
