The next three chapters aim to address dilemmas by directly focussing on professionalism. Whereas in Chapters 4, 5 and 6 the issue of uncertainty was explored with reference to scientific truth in research and practice, and in Chapters 7 and 8 the values with which professionals work were looked into, here I would like to problematise professionalism with regards to practice in the caring professions.
