Abstract

Additive manufacturing (AM) technology, also known as rapid prototyping (RP), is a set of technologies which are capable of fabricating 3D models and objects directly from CAD data by using the method of adding material in layers. The materials of different states, such as powder, liquid, and sheet, can be used by different AM technologies to fabricate 3D objects.
