Abstract
The decision to operate on a haemophilic patient is not an easy one for either the patient or the surgeon. Older patients, who have grown up through the years of inadequate treatment will be afraid of uncontrollable bleeding. Parents of the younger haemophiliacs may have heard stories of long and difficult spells in hospital following the simplest dental extraction. The surgeon will want to be sure that bleeding can be controlled until the wound has healed properly after the operation.
