Abstract

Peritoneal morphology has not previously engendered much interest. A few basic studies of this tissue have been made in rodents, yet despite unlimited access to normal human peritoneum at routine surgical operations little is known of the ultrastructure of the peritoneal mesothelium and subjacent structures in man.
