Obesity and its problems

When a practitioner is faced with a patient who is grossly obese there is no difficulty in defining and recognizing the condition. Moreover it is rare for the patient to deny that a problem exists, to deny its extent or to agree that treatment is required — though whether successful treatment can be achieved is another matter.
