Abstract

Register transfer languages serve as a medium to describe complex digital systems at early stages of logical design. The structure of the rt-language RTS Ia is presented; reasons for the incorporation of special language constructs are discussed. The application of RTS Ia as denotational system at several stages of digital design is demonstrated. Finally, the mode of operation of the RTS Ia simulation system is explained and an example of a complete simulation run is given.
