Biomechanical Analysis of Limb Loads in Aided Gait Using Elbow Crutches
Chapter
Abstract
Walking aids are generally prescribed for patients having problems in locomotion. The purpose of this study is to evaluate in detail the loadings on the upper limb in order to assess the upper limb requirements in aided-gait. In addition, the ability of the aid to be used as protection or weight bearing relief (WBR) for the lower limb is analysed.
