Application of the Ritz Method to the Solution of Parabolic Boundary Value Problems
Chapter
Abstract
Variational methods discussed in this book can also be applied — as implied by the author’s results in [37] — to the solution of boundary values problems for equations involving time. (See also [11], [18], etc.) In what follows, the application of the Ritz method to the solution of parabolic equations of order 2k in the space variables, with the Dirichlet boundary conditions, will be shown.
