Abstract

The data for this table have been collected from the export statistics that appeared over the years. The statistics up to 1873 relate to exports from Java while those after that date cover the whole of Indonesia. However, the pre-1874 statistics do include products of the Other Islands conveyed through Java. Before 1850 these transit products did not amount to much (at most Fl. 3–5 mil. a year), but after that date they increased somewhat: Fl. 6–8 mil. a year in the period 1851–1863, and Fl. 10–12 mil. a year in the period 1866–1870.
