Abstract
The fact that the word ‘robot’ exists in many languages is evidence of its recent coinage, despite the fact that it represents the fulfilment of an age-long aspiration: to create a device that can replace man in everything he cannot or does not wish to do himself, but still needs or wants to do, without presenting any threat to his authority.
