Abstract

The authors describe a new sign in thyroid ophthalmopathy, i.e., sovraorbital and retroocular pain together with increased intraocular pressure in upgaze. This is a very early sign which tends to disappear in the late phases. The sign is correlated with the dynamics of the extraocular muscle enlargement.
