Fluctuation Contributions to the Transport Properties of Hg1.4 Ba2Ca2Cu3O8+δ and Bi2Sr1.8Ca1.2Cu2O8 Polycrystalline Superconductors
Abstract
After some discussion on the precision and originality of the measurement methods used in order to measure the electrical resistivity and simultaneously the thermopower and the thermal conductivity as a function of temperature (20–300K), we report on a study of the superconductivity fluctuation contributions of these transport properties for Hg-BaCaCuO (1223) and BiSrCaCuO (2212) polycrystalline superconductors. The normal-state background of the thermal conductivity and the electrical resistivity is found to obey a linear function of temperature, while the thermopower is found to obey a cubic function of temperature above the critical temperature. After substracting the background, the fluctuation regimes are extracted. The results axe discussed and compared to the literature with respect to the system effective dimensionality.
