The Arnol’d Web in Atomic Physics

Abstract

A Rydberg atom placed in crossed static electric and magnetic fields is presented as a new testbed for phenomena not possible in two degrees of freedom. We compute the Arnol’d Web for this system and identify promising regimes for the detection of Arnol’d diffusion.
