Summary

Theoretical and experimental investigations of the heat exchange during thermal stabilization of the web made of pitch fibres and under the conditions of exothermal heat availability are conducted.

Differential equation of thermal conductivity for elementary fibre having internal heat sources and on conditions of convective heat treatment process is solved. Surface and internal fibre temperature is defined. Heat release values which give the possibility of process control is appraised.

Thermosetting of pitch-fibre web formed in the Chemical Fibre Institute (CzSFR) is investigated.

Obtained are data used in designing and manufacturing of the experimental equipment for carbon fibre thermal stabilization.
