Abstract

Paper film dopants can be an interesting alternative to the conventional diffusion sources used in the solar cells production. The fabrication process using these paper film dopants (known as diffusant pre-forms) is very simple. There is no need for gases in the process and the diffusion furnaces can be loaded with thousands of wafers, so a high productivity is achieved. The quality of the junctions obtained with this process is not as good as with standard fabrication procedures, but the diffusion cost is much lower when compared with the other techniques.
