Shock Consolidation of Polymeric Powders

  • T. Z. Blazynski

Abstract

Although structural synthesis of polymeric powders can and does take place when suitable shock conditions are established, the main interest in the use of this kind of treatment lies in the possibility of the bulk manufacture of new materials. Densification of either single polymers, or of their mixtures and blends has increased in its importance with the volume and range of specialised polymeric-matrix composites required for a variety of industrial applications.
